CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball middle blocker Abby Tadder has accepted an invitation to compete in the 17th annual European Global Challenge. This year’s tournament will be held in Pula, Croatia from July 11-15.

“I’m really looking forward to representing the United States and UVA on the international stage at this year’s Global Challenge,” said Tadder. “I’m excited about the opportunity to play with women from other college programs around the country and meet new people who also share a passion for volleyball. This will be my first time visiting Europe, so I am eager to see each country and experience their culture. Hopefully, this adventure will also give me a sense of what playing professionally overseas is like.”

Tadder appeared in all 28 matches, including 25 starts, last season. She finished second on the team in total blocks (88.0) and blocks per set (0.90), both of which stand at No. 9 on UVA’s all-time freshman records list. Tadder also finished fifth on the team in kills (113) and kills per set (1.15).

The trip, which also features sightseeing and other activities in Ljubljana, Maribor and Venice, was organized by Bring IT Promotions.
