Virginia Athletics recognizes there are many unknowns surrounding the 2020 football season. This page will serve as a resource to fans and will be continually updated with the most current information available.

Capacity

What are the current capacity guidelines at Scott Stadium?
The current guidelines for sports venues provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia under the “Forward Virginia” plan (announced June 18), allow for the lesser of 50 percent occupancy of the facility or 1,000 patrons.

Due to health and safety considerations in addition to the current guidelines for sports venues, attendance at UVA home competitions will be limited to family of student-athletes and each team’s coaching staff until further notice. Should the Commonwealth of Virginia adjust the protocols for spectator attendance, the UVA athletics department will announce new capacity guidelines and other protocols to attend events.

When will capacity decisions be made and how will those be communicated?
If capacity guidelines established by state, local and university officials enable fans to attend future games, Virginia Athletics will communicate the change to season ticket holders via email and to the public through a press release to media outlets. Information will also be posted to VirginiaSports.com and to the social media accounts of Virginia Football and Virginia Athletics.

What happens if circumstances require a game to be canceled?
The terms of the Fans First program will apply to tickets and parking for games which are not played and games which are played with attendance limited to guests of student-athletes and coaches. For more information on the Fans First program, click here.

Season Ticket Holders

What do these changes mean for season tickets?
Season tickets and parking will not be distributed for the 2020 season. Should capacity guidelines change to fans to be in attendance, season ticket holders, in groups based on Virginia Athletics Foundation Priority Points, will be able to choose their own seats through an online exchange process on a game-by-game basis. The game-by-game seat selection process will begin no later than 10 days prior to the opening game.

What if I do not want to attend any games during the 2020 season?
Season ticket holders were provided the opportunity to opt-out of their season ticket status prior to September 14. By opting out, season ticket holders forfeited their ability to select seats and parking for any/all home games during the 2020 season, but will have the opportunity to renew the same seats for the 2021 season as long as they maintain their 2020 pledge and payment to the Virginia Athletics Foundation. For season ticket holders who decided to opt-out, the donation/credit/refund actions will begin to be processed the week of September 21.

Will I have the opportunity to upgrade/relocate my season tickets/parking this season?
No, due to the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming season, we will not be running the online seat/parking improvement/relocation process this year.

Will I be able to renew my same seats/parking for the 2021 season?
2020 season ticket holders who maintain the appropriate Virginia Athletics Foundation pledge/payment will be able to renew the same seats/parking for the 2021 season.

What happens to money on my account if I can attend only a few games?
Season ticket holders will be able to view and select from available seats/parking locations online through their My Tickets account via a single game exchange process. The exchange process will allow season ticket holders the flexibility to make their own decision on attendance and will not require any additional payment. The exchange system works on a credit basis and any unused value from season tickets/parking/chairbacks will be applied at the direction of the season ticket holder’s Fans First selection.

Attendance

Who will have access to select seats for individual games?
If capacity guidelines change to allow fans to attend, season ticket holders will have first access to select seats for each game in groups based on VAF Priority Points. We anticipate a limited number of tickets may be available to purchase for non-season ticket holders outside of seats held for season ticket holders.

When will the seat selection take place?
The seat selection process would take place no later than 10 days prior to each home game once the capacity guidelines are established. Exact details on when the process will start will be communicated to season ticket holders via email.

Gameday At Scott Stadium

How will my tickets be delivered?
All tickets will be delivered in a digital format. For more information on digital ticketing, click here.

What changes will COVID-19 have on attending games at Scott Stadium?
Virginia Athletics will communicate game day information to fans once they are able to attend home football games.

Will masks be required?
Yes, per University guidelines, masks will be required to be worn at all times inside Scott Stadium.

Parking

How will parking work?
Under the current capacity guidelines, parking in all lots adjacent to Scott Stadium will be closed on game days. Should capacity guidelines enable fans to attend, VAF season parking pass holders will be able to choose their parking location on a game-by-game basis at the same time as they select their seats. All parking lots will be subject to guidelines established by local, state, and university health officials.

Tailgating is not permitted anywhere on Grounds.

Student Ticketing

How will UVA student attendance be handled?
Under the current capacity guidelines, UVA students are not able to attend home football games. If capacity guidelines established by state, local and university officials enable UVA students to attend, Virginia Athletics will communicate the change via email and information will also be posted to VirginiaSports.com and to the social media accounts of Virginia Football and Virginia Athletics.

Away Games

Will away game tickets still be available for sale?
No, due to reduced capacities at other venues and ACC guidelines, we will not have tickets available for purchase to any away games.

I purchased tickets for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game, will those be refunded?
Fans who purchased tickets for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game through the Virginia Athletics Ticket office should have received communication in early August regarding their refund options. Please contact the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office if you have questions regarding your Chick-fil-A Kickoff tickets.
