CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — University of Virginia offensive guard Noel LaMontagne was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Lineman of the Week for his play in Virginia’s 52-14 victory over San Jose State on October 3.

LaMontagne, a junior from Coopersburg, Pa., played 58 plays against the Spartans and recorded the highest grade of any Virginia offensive lineman this season. He was 19-0 in pass protection and had four knockdown blocks.

The Cavaliers gained a season-high 446 yards rushing against San Jose State and Virginia quarterbacks were not sacked in the game. UVa’s 446 yards rushing tied for the fourth-highest yards rushing total in school history and was the most in 30 years.

Virginia is currently 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers return to action on October 17 at Georgia Tech in a game that is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
