The men’s distance medley team won its race today while the women’s team took 3rd as the Cavaliers competed in the Blue Heaven Invitational held at UNC. Curtrell Frye was also a champion today, winning the indoor pentathlon with a score of 3644. Running the DMR for the Virginia men were Walton Kingsberry, Jason Young, Matt Antunes and Steve Gross, while the women raced Megan Schwartz, Carielle Doe, Sharon O’Connor and Dawn Cleary.

Kiamesha Otey took fourth in the 60-meter dash and the long jump, while Jane Maxwell was third in the 5000-meter run. Pole vaulters Vika Osipenko took 6th and Annica White were 8th in that event today. Eliese Mitchell threw over 60 feet again this week with a toss of 60′ 8.5″ as she took 5th in the weight throw.

On the men’s side, Andrew Filachek took fourth in the 5K race in the fastest time this season for a Cavalier.
