LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Virginia third-year Alison Sharp (Newton, Pa./Council Rock) and second-year Pete Amstutz (St. Joseph, Mich./St. Joseph) turned in top 20 finishes Friday (March 15) in the first day of competition at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at the University of Kentucky’s Lancaster Aquatic Center. Sharp was 19th in the women’s one-meter diving competition, while Amstutz placed 20th on the men’s three-meter board.

Sharp finished a career-best 19th in the one-meter competition with 242.35 points. Sharp’s previous best finish on the one-meter board at Zone B Meet was 28th in 2000.

In his first appearance at the NCAA Zone B Regionals, Amstutz scored 278.50 points to finish 20th in the men’s three-meter competition.

The Zone B Diving Regionals conclude Saturday (March 16). Sharp will compete in the women’s three-meter competition, while Amstutz will dive from one meter in the men’s competition. Both events will be held simultaneously at 10:00 a.m.
