CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia wrestler Scott Moore has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Wrestler of the Week after posting a perfect 5-0 record at the Body Bar Invitational, hosted by Cornell University this past weekend. Moore, ranked third nationally at 141 pounds, won all five of his matches at Cornell by fall to help the Cavaliers place fifth out of 11 total teams. The Franklin, Pa. native defeated Ryan Bridge of Cornell in his first match earning a fall in 6 minutes 21 seconds and then won three consecutive matches by fall by :53 seconds or less to advance to the finals. In the championship match, Moore achieved his fifth consecutive fall against Edinboro’s Ron Doppelheur at 1:44 to garner first place accolades.

For the season, Moore is a perfect 10-0 overall and has won nine of his 10 matches by fall. He has competed in two events this season, the Michigan State Open and Cornell’s Body Bar Invitational, and took first place in both events with 5-0 marks in each tournament. In just two tournaments this season, Moore is only two pins away from tying and three pins away from setting a new Virginia school record.
