After Burke came out to the 18 yard box on Davies, who was on a breakaway to deflect the ball, Hepburn chipped a shot from 25 yards over the head of Virginia defenders. The ball rolled into the goal giving Boston College a 1-0 lead.

Nico Colaluca tied the game, 1-1, two minutes later. He headed home a cross from Dane Murphy at the 2:21 mark for his second goal of the season.
