CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia football fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2007 Cavalier squad at the annual Meet the Team Day on Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium.
The stadium’s west gate will open at 2:30 p.m., with the team arriving at approximately 2:45 p.m. Parking and admission to the event are free and open to the public. The Meet the Team Day will last until approximately 4:15 p.m. and will be held rain or shine.
Scheduled activities surrounding the appearance of the 2007 Virginia football team include a uniform try-on station, V-Sabre face-tattoo painting, free posters for autographs, raffle prizes, inflatable games and a gyrosphere. In addition, there will be food, beverages, and Cavalier merchandise to purchase, including the official 2007 Virginia football fan t-shirt by Nike. The t-shirt is currently available for purchase at the Cavalier Team Shop online at www.virginiasports.com.
The Cavaliers report for preseason practice on Sunday, Aug. 5, and practice starts the following day. UVa opens the 2007 season at Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 1, in a game that kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. Virginia’s home opener is Saturday, Sept. 8, against Duke. Kickoff is noon.
Virginia football season tickets, the Cavalier 3-Pack and single-game tickets are available. The season ticket package includes home games against Duke (Sept. 8), Georgia Tech (Sept. 22), Pittsburgh (Sept. 29), the Homecomings game vs. Connecticut (Oct. 13), Wake Forest (Nov. 3), and Virginia Tech (Nov. 24). The Cavalier 3-Pack includes the home games against Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest. Single-game tickets are available for each 2007 home game except the contest against Virginia Tech.
