Virginia Hosts Rivanna Romp Sunday
CHARLOTTESVILLE The Virginia rowing team is set to host the Rivanna Romp Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rivanna Reservoir. Teams from Georgetown, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas and host Virginia will compete in the regatta.
This is the second event of the fall season for the Cavaliers, who had a strong at the Princeton Chase on Oct. 28. Virginia crews finished second, third and sixth out of 45 entries in the open eight competition to highlight its effort on Lake Carnegie.
Last week, the Virginia novices took to the reservoir and the “A” crew won the 4,000-meter novice eight head race by a wide margin in competition against novice crews from Georgetown and George Washington.
