CHARLOTTESVILLEFans are encouraged to arrive early for the sold out football game between nationally-ranked opponents Virginia (9-2 overall, 6-1 ACC) and Virginia Tech (9-2 overall, 6-1 ACC) on Saturday (Nov. 24). Gates at Virginia’s Carl Smith Center, home of David A. Harrison III Field at Scott Stadium, will open at 10 a.m. for the game that is scheduled to begin at noon.

Saturday is Senior Day for the Cavaliers. In addition to the recognition of Virginia’s senior players, a number of pre-game ceremonies and presentations are planned. Fans should plan to be in their seats 30 minutes before kickoff for all of the pre-game activities.

“We encourage fans of both teams to arrive at the stadium early,” said Virginia Athletics Director Craig Littlepage. “With a noon start, a sold out game and holiday shopping underway, there is a concern about traffic congestion on Saturday. It’s important for fans to plan on being at the stadium as early as possible to avoid potential delays in getting to their seats. There are also a number of pre-game ceremonies and presentations that fans won’t want to miss.”

The winner of Saturday’s game wins the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Coastal Division and advances to play Boston College in the ACC Championship game in Jacksonville, Fla., on Dec. 1.
