CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. Scot Robison, a second-year on the Virginia men’s swimming and diving team, was named the ACC men’s swimmer of the week, the conference office announced Tuesday. The league recognition is a career first for Robison.

Robison, a Charlotte, N.C. native, helped Virginia to a pair of wins to open the season. On Friday in the season opener against South Carolina, Robison won both the 50 free (20.63) and 100 free (44.73) to go along with a team win in the 200 medley relay (1:31.26) as Virginia cruised to a 165-124 win over the Gamecocks.

A day later at Clemson, Robison showed his versatility by winning the 200 free (1:38.87) and finishing second in the 500 free (4:36.93). He was also on the wining 200 medley relay team (1:32.22). Virginia improved to 2-0 and 1-0 in the conference with a 189-105 win over Clemson.

The Cavaliers are back in action at 5 p.m. Wednesday against in-state and ACC foe Virginia Tech. Swimming and diving meets are held at the Aquatic and Fitness Center and are free of charge. Live stats also will be available at VirginiaSports.com.
