Trebels Competing at Global Challenge in Croatia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Rising sophomore Hillary Trebels has been selected to the Junior National A2 Volleyball Team that is beginning competition at the 2009 Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia, today.

The American vs. European Challenge includes 12 teams hailing from six countries, with each team playing six matches before playoffs begin.

The United State’s Junior National A2 team will face the Falconara Juniors from Italy, OK Galeb from Montenegro and the Croatia Junoir National team on Monday, before taking on OK Pula from Croatia, Nova KBM Branik from Slovenia and CSU Targu Mures Romania on Tuesday. Playoffs will be held on Wednesday and Thursday before a championship match on Thursday.

The squad opened the tour with a four-day training camp in Switzerland before partaking in opening ceremonies in Croatia yesterday. Following competition, the team will spend one day sightseeing in Venice before returning to the United States.
