CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The third-ranked Virginia field hockey team (11-2) welcomes in-state foe William & Mary for a 6 p.m. contest Monday at the University Hall Turf Field.

The Cavaliers return home after a 3-2 loss Saturday at top-ranked North Carolina. Freshmen Katie Robison and Elly Buckley each scored in the contest as UVa rallied from a 2-0 deficit at halftime to tie the game late in the second half. The Tar Heels remain the only unbeaten team in the nation.

Virginia is 10-0 this season in non-conference play and boasts a 4-1 mark at the University Hall Turf Field.

On the year, junior Paige Selenski leads the Cavaliers with 16 goals. Buckley is second with eight scores and leads the team with seven assists. Sophomore Tara Puffenberger has also contributed seven scores while junior Michelle Vittese adds four goals.

In the cage, senior goalkeeper Kim Kastuk posts a 1.38 goals against average and .831 save percentage. The Cavalier defense has five shutouts on the year.

William & Mary (3-11) is scoreless in its last three contests and most recently dropped a 1-0 decision at home to No. 16 Duke on Friday night. The Tribe’s last win was a 1-0 victory vs. Delaware on Oct. 3.

Sophomore Ashley Kyle leads William & Mary on the year with three goals while seniors Erica Eng and Rebecca Wagner have each scored twice. Eng paces the squad with three assists.

Two goalkeepers have split action in the cage for the Tribe this season. Redshirt sophomore Elizabeth Frey has a 1.97 goals against average and .782 save percentage while redshirt junior Camilla Hill has a 3.92 GAA and .667 save percentage.

The Cavaliers lead the all-time series with William & Mary, 23-14-2. Last season, Virginia earned a 4-1 victory in Williamsburg.
