CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Members of both the Virginia men’s and women’s diving teams are set to compete this week at the Tennessee Invitational, which begins Monday in Knoxville, Tenn.

“This is one of the most competitive invitationals in the country,” Virginia diving coach Rich MacDonald said. “There will be universities from the ACC, SEC, Big Ten, and other major conferences at the meet. It will be a great way to start off the new year and get us ready for championship season, which is right around the corner.”

Competing for the Cavalier men with be senior Nathan Parker and junior Briggy Imbriglia. Freshmen Alex Leinroth and Kelly Lloyd will represent the Virginia women.

Divers from Army, Auburn, Clemson, Drexel, Florida, Georgia, Iowa State, Kentucky, LSU, Navy, North Carolina, SMU, South Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech are all slated to compete.

The three-day event begins at 12 p.m. Monday with the men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter prelims, with the finals to immediately follow. On Tuesday, the event will again get underway at 12 p.m. and follow the same format with the women on the 1-meter and the men on the 3-meter. There will be no preliminary rounds on the platform on Wednesday and the men’s and women’s finals will begin at 11:30 a.m.
