Kristina Bethea
Academic Coordinator Kristina Bethea joined the Virginia athletics department as an Academic Coordinator in March 2011. She works with the volleyball, field hockey and men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs, providing academic advising, counseling and support. She is also an advisor for Virginia’s pre-optometry club.

Prior to UVa, Bethea worked as the Coordinator for Residence Education at the University of Arkansas for three and a half years, where she coordinated the opening of a 750-student resident facility that featured a comprehensive curriculum program aimed at promoting academic success and civic responsibility for freshmen and sophomores.

Bethea earned a master’s degree with a concentration in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education from the University of Virginia in August 2007. While in graduate school at UVa, Bethea was a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Life and the Office of the Dean of Students.

Bethea earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Anthropology and Black Studies from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, in May 2006. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the American College Personnel Association and the NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
