CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia rowing squad concludes the 2012 fall season Sunday (Nov. 11) when it hosts the Rivanna Romp in Earlysville, Va., at the Rivanna Reservoir.

The racing begins at 9 a.m., with the varsity eight boats. The novice eights and smaller boats are slated to start at 10:30 a.m. Boats will go off one at a time, about 10-15 seconds apart, in a time trial to determine the winners.

The Cavaliers will be competing against crews from Columbia, Louisville, Pennsylvania and Old Dominion.

Free parking is available at the Thomas Temple Allan Boathouse on the west bank of the Rivanna Reservoir. The boathouse is the closest point spectators can see the boats along the 4,000-meter course.

The Cavaliers look to continue a successful fall season, as the Varsity Eight won the Princeton Chase and was the top collegiate boat at the Head of the Charles.

Last year at the Rivanna Romp, UVa was victorious in the varsity eights and doubles.

Virginia’s spring season begins March 9 with a scrimmage against Michigan State at Claytor Lake Stake Park in Dublin, Va.
