CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia wrestlers Blaise Butler (R-Fr., Belvidere, Ill.) and George DiCamillo (Fr., Highland Heights, Ohio) each won individual championships to highlight a strong day for UVa at the Wolfpack Open Sunday in Raleigh, N.C. Butler captured the 157-pound crown, while DiCamillo won his second straight title at 133 pounds. DiCamillo also swept through the field to win the Hokie Open last Sunday.

Butler and DiCamillo were two of the nine Cavaliers to place Sunday. After winning his first match Sunday with a pin of Duke’s Immanuel Kerr-Brown, Butler won four straight matches by decision, capped by a 7-3 win over Maryland’s Ben Dorsay in the finals.

Competing unattached, DiCamillo allowed just three points in his four bouts Sunday as he improved to 9-0 on the young season. He downed Appalachian State’s Jake Smith, 6-3, in the finals.

Gus Sako (Jr., Cleveland, Ohio) took third place at 149 pounds, scoring a quick fall against West Virginia’s Tre Miller-Scott in the third-place bout.

Billy Coggins (Jr., Sound Beach, N.Y.) finished fourth at 184 as he scored a pair of pins en route to a podium finish.

Zach Watson (Fr., Chattanooga, Tenn.) added a fifth-place finish at 133 pounds. Will Mason (Fr., Virginia Beach, Va.), Joseph Martinez (So., Platteville, Colo.), Justin Van Hoose (Fr., Kirksville, Mo.) and Vinny Waldhauser (So., El Dorado Hills, Calif.) all recorded eighth-place finishes at 125, 133, 141 and 174, respectively.
