Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia men’s golfer Mac McLaughlin (Shaker Heights, Ohio) has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by the ACC today. A government major, McLaughlin was a senior during the 2012-13 season.

McLaughlin played in 11 matches during the 2012-13 season and helped the Cavaliers to an appearance at the NCAA Regional in Columbus, Ohio. He was third on the team with a 74.38 stroke average. He posted the team’s low round against par, shooting 6-under 64 at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. He recorded four top-10 finishes during the season and was the runner-up at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. He led UVa in scoring four times during the year.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintain a cumulative 3.00 average during his academic career.
