GREENSBORO, N.C.—The No. 3 Virginia rowing team’s Varsity Eight was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (April 1).

The crew consisted of senior coxswain Sarah Jordan (Flourtown, Pa.), Elle Murray (Sr., Tampa, Fla.), Constanze Duell (Sr., Oberschlesissheim, Germany), Chandler Lally (Jr., Bryn Mawr, Pa.), Georgia Ratcliff (Fr., Falls Church, Va.), Brandy Herald (Sr., Portland, Ore.), Fiona Schlesinger (Sr., Surrey, United Kingdom), Lizzy Youngling (Jr., Westport, Conn.) and Hemingway Benton (Jr., Glencoe, Ill.). The crew is undefeated this spring over seven different opponents.

The Cavaliers’ top boat defeated crews from No. 13 Stanford, Oregon State and No. 6 USC last weekend at the Pac-12 Challenge in Redwood Shores, Calif.

On Saturday (March 29), UVa defeated the Cardinal by nearly nine seconds, 6:29.91-6:38.86, before posting a victory over the Beavers by over seven seconds, 6:30.5-6:37.7. The Cavaliers closed out the weekend with a win over the Trojans on Sunday (March 30) by nearly three seconds, 6:31.2-6:34.1.

Virginia travels to Princeton, N.J., Saturday (April 5) to face Columbia and Princeton at 10:30 a.m.
