CHARLOTTESVILLE – The fourth-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team returns to action this week with a pair of conference road matches. The Cavaliers visit No. 17 Clemson Friday at 11 a.m. and No. 64 Georgia Tech Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Cavaliers (15-2, 6-0 ACC) are the only team undefeated in ACC play this season. They are coming off home victories over Miami, Florida State and William & Mary last week at the Boyd Tinsley Courts at the Boar’s Head Sports Club and enter the weekend on a six-match win streak.
On Friday, Virginia visits Clemson (17-4, 4-2 ACC), who is ranked a season-high No. 17 this week. The Tigers are coming off a road trip where they won 4-3 at NC State and lost 4-1 at Wake Forest. The Cavaliers have won the last 13 meetings in the series, including the last five in Clemson.
Saturday’s match at Georgia Tech (7-9, 1-5 ACC) concludes the road trip for the Cavaliers. The Yellow Jackets look to snap a three-match losing streak after losses to Notre Dame, Wake Forest and NC State. The Cavaliers have won 12 straight matches against Georgia Tech, including the last five in Atlanta.
Live stats for both matches will be available on VirginiaSports.com.
The Cavaliers return home next weekend their final two regular season matches at the Snyder Tennis Center. Virginia hosts NC State on April 13 and Wake Forest on April 15.
