CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team hosts Delaware State for a doubleheader Wednesday (April 9) at The Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Cavaliers (4-32) dropped a three-game series to North Carolina at The Park last weekend (April 5-6). In the second game, senior Marcy Bowdren (Fairfax Station, Va.) had a no-hitter through 5.1 innings before the Tar Heels prevailed, 3-1. The two hits allowed were the fewest allowed by the Virginia pitching staff in a game this season.
The Hornets (19-10) come to Charlottesville after sweeping Morgan State on Sunday. Nicole Gazzola leads the team with a .391 batting average, while Tara Tursellino is 8-3 with a 1.39 ERA.
Virginia hits the road this weekend (April 12-13) for a three-game series against in-state rival Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for a noon start, while Sunday’s first pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
