CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 9 Virginia women’s tennis team closes the regular season with a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matches at No. 44 Florida State and No. 15 Miami this weekend.

The Cavaliers (17-4, 11-1 ACC) battle the Seminoles (13-10, 5-7 ACC) in Tallahassee on Friday (April 18) with first serve set for 3 p.m. Virginia takes on the Hurricanes (16-4, 10-2 ACC) in Coral Gables on Sunday (April 20) with first serve set for 1 p.m. Live stats for both matches will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia, which has won a school-best 11 ACC matches and eight consecutive matches overall, is 9-22 all-time against Florida State and 4-13 all-time vs. Miami. The Cavaliers posted a 4-0 win and a 4-3 loss against the Seminoles and a 4-1 win over Miami last season.

UVa has four ranked singles players in No. 3 Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.), No. 33 Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.), No. 50 Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) and No. 64 Rachel Pierson (Princeton, N.J.).

Elbaba is 15-2 at No. 1 singles and Collins is 14-5 at Nos. 1 and 2. Nauta is 17-1 at Nos. 2-4 and Pierson is 13-7 at Nos. 2-4.

Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) is 13-7 at Nos. 4-6, while Li Xi (Kunming, China), Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) have all seen action at No. 6.

Elbaba and Pierson are ranked No. 11 in doubles with an 8-6 dual record. Nauta and Epstein are No. 69 with a 9-4 dual record.

Kerrie Cartwright, who is ranked No. 117 in singles and No. 58 in doubles with Daneika Borthwick, leads Florida State.

No. 36 Stephanie Wagner and No. 62 Kelsey Laurente highlight Miami’s singles lineup, while No. 21 Monique Albuquerque and Clementina Riobueno and No. 40 Melissa Bolivar and Laurente are ranked in doubles.

The ACC Women’s Tennis Championships are set for April 23-27 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
