CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia softball team closes the 2014 season with a three-game series at Boston College Saturday and Sunday (April 26-27). Saturday’s doubleheader is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, while Sunday’s first pitch is slated for noon.

Live statistics for all three games will be available and linked at VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers (8-40, 1-22 ACC) swept Liberty, 3-1 and 13-3, Wednesday (April 23) at The Park in their last outing. Freshman Lindsay Mayer (Lincoln, R.I.) went 3-for-3 with a season-high five RBI in the second game, while sophomore Aimee Chapdelaine (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) pitched two complete games.

The Eagles (25-19, 9-11 ACC) took two of three at NC State last weekend (April 18-19), winning the first two games, 2-0 and 6-2, before falling in the finale, 6-1. Megan Cooley leads the team with a .354 batting average, while Nicole D’Argento handles most of the pitching duties and has a 15-12 record with a 2.68 ERA.

Last year, the Cavaliers claimed the series, winning the first game, 3-2, and the finale, 4-1, while the Eagles captured the second game, 3-2, in nine innings.
