CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 5 Virginia hits the road for a match at No. 9 Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 24. First serve at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas, is set for 7 p.m.

Juniors Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas), Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) and Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.), and freshman Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) lead the Cavaliers into their tough road match.

Nauta, Morton, Epstein and Mercer rallied short-handed Virginia past No. 42 Utah (4-3) with singles wins to keep the Cavaliers unbeaten at 2-0. Nauta is ranked No. 16 nationally with a 1-1 record, while Morton, Epstein and Mercer are each 2-0. Morton and Mercer are ranked No. 11 nationally in doubles.

Baylor owns a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series against Virginia. The Cavaliers defeated the Bears, 4-1, in the last meeting between the teams in the 2014 NCAA Round of 16 in Athens, Ga.

No. 49 Blair Shankle, No. 72 Ema Burgic and No. 73 Kelley Anderson lead the Bears, who upset then-No. 5 Georgia 4-1 in their season-opener on Jan. 18. Live scoring for the Virginia-Baylor match is available on VirginiaSports.com.
