CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s track & field teams will return to action this week with athletes competing at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational on the campus of Boston University. The women’s events will be held on Friday and the men’s events will be held on Saturday.

Live results of the meet will be available on VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia will send 14 women’s athletes to Boston to compete in track events ranging from 200m to 5000m. The day will begin for the Cavaliers at 2:35 p.m. with the 800m and conclude at 7:55 p.m. with the 5000m.

Virginia will have 10 men’s middle distance and distance runners in action Saturday, competing in events ranging from the 800m to the 5000m. The day begins with the 800m at 11:35 a.m. and concludes with the 5000m at 7:10 p.m. The Cavaliers will also compete in the 4x400m relay, an event that the Cavaliers broke the school record last week at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet in Kentucky. The team of Payton Hazzard (Huntington, N.Y.), Nathan Kiley (Chantilly, Va.), Logan Carrington (Leesburg, Va.) and David Bartha (Bonyhad, Hungary) crossed in a time of 3:12.52, breaking the previous record, which had stood for 26 years, by .03 of a second.

Virginia will be in action the following week at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet, running Feb. 6-7 in Blacksburg.
