PRINCETON, N.J.–The No. 4 Virginia rowing team picked up five race wins against the Ivy League’s No. 8 Princeton, No. 13 Harvard-Radcliffe and Cornell Saturday morning (April 11) on Lake Carnegie.

“We made some great progress as a team today,” UVa head coach Kevin Sauer. “Thanks to Princeton for hosting and Harvard-Radcliffe and Cornell for allowing us to race.”

The Cavaliers picked up wins against the Tigers, Crimson and Big Red in the Varsity Eight (time of 6:54.5), Second Varsity Eight (7:13.5), Varsity Four (7:29.5) and Second Varsity Four (7:59.3). UVa’s Third Varsity Four took down two crews from Princeton and one from the Crimson in 8:23.6.

Virginia’s Third Varsity Eight finished second behind Princeton (7:20.0-7:26.6), but ahead of Harvard-Radcliffe and Cornell.

Next up, the Cavaliers travel to Clemson, S.C., April 18-19 to take part in the Clemson Invitational on Lake Hartwell.
