CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Virginia men’s basketball team was selected second in the ACC Operation Basketball 2015-16 Preseason Poll, announced Wednesday during the ACC’s annual media event. Senior guard Malcolm Brogdon (Atlanta, Ga.) was voted as the ACC Preseason Co-Player of the Year with North Carolina’s Marcus Paige.

Brogdon and Anthony Gill (R-Sr., High Point, N.C.) each were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team. Brogdon was a first-team pick, while Gill was a second-team selection.

North Carolina was named the preseason ACC favorite and received 60 of the 79 first-place votes. Virginia received 18 first-place votes, while Duke earned eight first-place nods.

The Cavaliers open their season Nov. 13 at home against Morgan State at John Paul Jones Arena.
