TAMPA, Fla. – Virginia men’s tennis redshirt junior Harrison Richmond (Pawley’s Island, S.C.) competed in the qualifying singles tournament, vying for one of eight available spots in the main draw of the Tampa USTA Men’s Pro Circuit Futures tournament, being held at the Harbour Island Athletic Club & Spa in Tampa, Fla.
Richmond advanced to the qualifying final but fell 6-1, 6-2 to Nick Papac on Monday morning.
Richmond faced Davey Roberts in the opening round, dropping his opening set 6-1, but coming back with 6-3 and 6-4 victories. In the second round, he downed Joseph Rotherham 6-2, 6-3 before defeating Jericho Grollman 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the final.
