Sports Illustrated Vault featured #UVAMBB great Ralph Sampson’s cover from March 30, 1981 on its Cover of the Day Thursday. The cover highlighted the three-time National Player of the Year before Virginia was set to compete in the NCAA Final Four.

Midseason All-American

#UVAMLAX midfielder Ryan Conrad was named by @Inside_Lacrosse as a Midseason All-American, included on the second team. Conrad is currently No. 20 in the nation and No. 3 in the ACC with 49 ground balls. His 49 ground balls are the most in the nation among players that don’t take faceoffs for their teams. Running on the first midfield for UVA, Conrad has 12 goals and seven assists. Conrad had a huge game against Cornell, scoring three goals, dishing one assist and picking up 11 ground balls in the win. He also scored the game-winning goal in the season opener at then-No. 6 Loyola. It was the final goal of his hat-trick.
