UVA Remains in Second Place at Tar Heel Invitational
Chapel Hill, N.C. – With four players in the top 15 on the leaderboard after Saturday’s play, the Virginia women’s golf team remains in second place at the Tar Heel Invitational. UVA shot 4-over 292 on Saturday for a two-day total of 7-under 569. Duke holds an eight-stroke advantage over the Cavaliers at 561. The Blue Devils posted a second-round score of 290.
UVA senior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) will enter Sunday’s final round tied for third at 5-under 139. Redding shot 1-under 71 on Saturday. Cavalier senior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) is tied for 11th place with sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) at 1-under 143. Patrick shot 75 during the second round while Lillie posted a score of 72.
Sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) shot 74 and is 15th place at even par 144. Senior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) is in 63rd place at 153. She had a second-round score of 77.
