CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior goalkeeper Carrera Lucas (Brooklandville, Md.) was named the Longstreth/NFHCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week
  
Lucas played a key role as then-23rd-ranked Virginia posted wins over No. 14 Wake Forest and No. 2 Maryland. On the week, the goalkeeper came up with 10 saves on 14 shots, including eight in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over the Terps.
 
This is the first national defensive player of the week award in Lucas’ career.
 
Freshman Greer Gill (Virginia Beach, Va.) received an honorable mention for offensive player of the week.
 
Gill and Lucas swept this week’s honors for ACC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
