UVA Finishes Fourth at The Landfall Tradition
Wilmington, N.C. – The No. 2 Virginia women’s golf team finished fourth at The Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, N.C. It was UVA’s third outing of the fall. The Cavaliers shot 11-over 299 during Sunday’s final round for a three-day total of 28-over 892. No. 5 Duke took the team title at 15-over 879 while No. 17 South Carolina was second (881) and No. 8 Arkansas was third (882).
Sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) led UVA with an 11th-place finish, shooting 2-over 74 on Sunday to complete play at 5-over 221. A trio of Cavaliers tied for 21st place. Seniors Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) all finished at 8-over 224. Patrick had UVA’s best final-round score, shooting 73, while Redding posted a 75 on Sunday and Gonzales finished with a 77.
Junior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was 48th at 230. She shot 78 during the final round.
UVA wraps up its fall schedule Nov. 2-4 when it competes in the Battle at the Beach held at San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
