Charlottesville, Va. – Former UVA standout Elizabeth Szokol earned her card for the 2019 LPGA Tour this weekend after tying for third at the Symetra Tour Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla. Szokol finished the season fourth on the Symetra Tour’s Volvik Race for the Card money list. The top 10 on the Volvik Race for the Card money list earn LPGA Tour membership for the 2019 season.

Szokol, who was an honorable mention All-American as a senior at UVA in 2016, is in her second season on the Symetra Tour. Coming off knee surgery in January, she won her first professional event in May, taking top honors at the inaugural IOA Invitational.

This year two UVA golfers – Brittany Altomare and Lauren Coughlin – competed on the LPGA Tour.

This season is the 17th year in the 34-year-history of the Symetra Tour that players have been able to earn automatic exemptions onto the LPGA Tour and the 11th year that at least five LPGA memberships have been awarded.
