CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia volleyball (8-18, 4-12 ACC) will welcome Georgia Tech (16-12, 5-10 ACC) to Memorial Gymnasium on Friday (Nov. 16) at 7 p.m. for the final home match of the season.
 
Virginia will honor seniors Olivia Wolodkewitsch (Omaha, Neb.) and Kat Young (Chantilly, Va.) prior to the match.
 
LAST TIME AGAINST GEORGIA TECH
• Virginia captured a 31-29 opening set, but the Yellow Jackets reeled off the next three to earn the victory on Nov. 4.
• Grace Turner (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the Cavaliers with 14 kills in the match.
• Mikaila Dowd paced the Yellow Jackets with a match-high 20 kills.
• Two of the four sets went to extra points.
 
VIRGINIA VS. GEORGIA TECH
Virginia and Georgia Tech meet for the second time this season and the 59th time overall.
• The Yellow Jackets captured the earlier meeting, 3-1, and hold a 36-22 mark in the series.
• Virginia has won four of the past five meetings in Charlottesville.
 
BLOCKING BEASTS
• For the third time this season, Virginia set a top-five mark in blocking with its 20 rejections in the win over Virginia Tech.
• The tally tied the school record for blocks in a five-set match.
• The 20 blocks mark only the eighth time the Cavaliers have hit the plateau on the block and the first occurrence since 2007.
 
SENIOR DAY
• Virginia will honor Wolodkewitsch, Young and student manager Jillian Randolph prior to the match.
• Wolodkewitsch has appeared in 45 matches as a Cavalier and recorded a career-best 12 digs in a sweep over Ohio in 2017. She has spent the past two years on Grounds after transferring from Iowa Western.
• Young has played in 76 matches over three seasons with 297 kills and 177 blocks. She ranks top 10 all time at Virginia for blocks by a freshman (70).
