San Lucas, Mexico – The No. 9 Virginia women’s golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a ninth-place showing at the Battle at the Beach at Club Campestre San Jose Golf Club in San Lucas, Mexico. UVA shot 9-over 293, its best round of the tournament, on Sunday for a three-day total of 893. No. 22 Auburn captured the team title at 7-under 845.
 
UVA was led by junior Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) who placed 24th at 6-over 220. She finished the weekend with a score of 3-over 74 on Sunday. It marked the second time during her career she has been UVA’s top finisher at a tournament.
 
Senior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) shot 1-over 72 during the final round to move up to 42nd overall at 224. Senior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) tied for 49th place at 227. Patrick finished with a 75 while Lillie had her best 18-hole score, shooting 1-over 72. Senior Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) was 63rd at 230. She shot 79 during the final round.
 
Auburn’s Kaleigh Telfer and Clemson’s Ana Paula Valdes shared medalist honors at 5-under 208.
 
The Cavaliers open their spring season Feb. 18-19 at the Rebel Beach Invitational in Las Vegas.
