Women’s Singles Bracket | Women’s Doubles Bracket

SURPRISE, Az. –Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine), a senior on the Virginia women’s tennis team, advanced in singles competition at the Oracle ITA Fall National Championships with a straight-set victory on Wednesday (Nov. 7).

Kelley defeated Chiara Tomasetti of Northern Arizona by a score of 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the Round of 32 on Thursday. She will face the No. 16 seed in the field, Lisa Marie Rioux of Oklahoma State for a chance to advance to Friday’s Round of 16 match.

In doubles action Kelley paired with freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia), falling to the doubles tandem of Ingrid Gamarra-Martins and Mia Horvit from South Carolina. The Gamecock team won 6-0, 6-4 to send the Cavalier pairing to the consolation bracket.

The 2018 Oracle ITA Fall National Championships serves as the culminating event of the fall portion of the collegiate tennis season. The national tournament features 128 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players (64 men and 64 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams). In its second year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships is the lone event on the collegiate tennis calendar to feature competitors from all five divisions (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) playing in the same tournament.
