CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 22 Virginia (14-6, 8-4 ACC) women’s tennis team closes out the regular season this weekend, hosting Clemson (12-11, 5-7 ACC) and Wake Forest (17-10, 5-7 ACC) in a pair of matches at the Snyder Tennis Center.

The Cavaliers will face the Tigers at 3 p.m. on Friday (April 20) before hosting the Demon Deacons at noon on Sunday (April 22). Admission to all home Virginia tennis matches is free to the public. Concessions are available at all matches at the Snyder Tennis Center. Free parking is available at the Culbreth Parking Garage.

SENIOR DAY RECOGNITION
The Cavaliers will honor a pair of seniors prior to Sunday’s match against Wake Forest. Being recognized prior to the match are Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia). Fans are encouraged to arrive early to help honor the duo for their contributions to the program.

PROMOTIONS AT SNYDER
The Cavaliers have promotions going on at the women’s tennis matches this weekend that fans should note. Friday’s match with Clemson is a Sabre Rewards match with free Dominos pizza for the first 200 students. Free sunglasses will also be given away. Sunday’s match with Wake Forest is the final appearance of the Sunday Sundae bar with free ice cream sundaes for fans between doubles and singles.

CAVALIERS IN THE RANKINGS
The Cavaliers are in the top 25 of the team rankings for the ninth week this season. Virginia is ranked No. 22 in the latest Oracle/ITA Women’s Tennis rankings.

Virginia features a doubles team in the national rankings as the pairing of Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) and Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) is ranked No. 16 in the ITA Women’s Doubles rankings. In singles, the Cavaliers also have one player make an appearance with Johanson ranked No. 43 nationally.

A LOOK AT CLEMSON
Clemson enters the weekend after splitting a pair of matches last weekend against Louisville and No. 1 North Carolina. The Tigers are led by Marie Leduc, the No. 23 ranked singles player in the latest Oracle/ITA singles rankings. Leduc pairs with Fernanda Navarro as the No. 33 doubles tandem in the nation. Virginia has won four of the last five meetings against the Tigers.

A LOOK AT WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest enters the weekend with a Friday matchup at Boston College before taking on the Cavaliers on Sunday. The Demon Deacons split last weekend’s matches, falling at NC State before picking up a win over Louisville at home. Wake Forest is led by Emma Davis, the No. 27 ranked singles player in the latest Oracle/ITA rankings. Davis pairs with Chandler Carter as the No. 38 doubles tandem in the nation.

UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS:
Virginia will return to action next week, taking the court at the ACC Championships at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. Brackets and seeding will be announced for the Tournament after conclusion of this weekend’s matches. Play at the tournament begins on Wednesday, April 25.
