As we continue through the 2018 season, members of the Virginia women’s tennis team took some time to sit down and answer a few questions to provide a little insight and help our fans get to know them better as student-athletes.

What do you love most about competing as a Virginia Cavalier?
Travelling to away matches at interesting locations, while proudly representing Virginia.
Why did you choose Virginia?
For its excellence and reputation in both academics and athletics
What will be your lasting memory of your time as a Virginia Cavalier?
A lot of memories, but my favorites are definitely from the tough clinch matches that we’ve won
What defines a Cavalier?
Resilience, excellence and sportsmanship
Who or what motivates you in your sport?
My parents, teammates and the tremendous love I have for this sport
What are your goals for the season?
To play my best tennis in my last semester of college tennis and to support my teammates in all ways I can.
Favorite family vacation?
Greece during summer and Austria during winter for skiing
Favorite class?
I have two favorites, one for each major: economics of education and archaeology of Europe.

Cocoa Puffs

What would you sing at Karaoke night?
Fighter by Christina Aguilera

Positive, goofy and feisty
Who is your hero and why?
Novak Djokovic, because he managed to become No. 1 tennis player in the world and win many grand slams against all the odds while still remaining humble, altruistic and respectful.
Name one thing most people probably don’t know about you?
I love to sing and play the piano
Besides your own sport, what’s a sporting event on Grounds that fans need to experience at least once and why?
Volleyball games, because the atmosphere is amazing!
If you could play any other sport, what would it be?
Volleyball
If you could give any advice to younger athletes entering the sport what would it be?
To give their maximum effort every day at practice and wins will come along the way.
Nickname (is there a story you can share that goes with it)?
Dora, I didn’t know about the cartoon Dora the Explorer when I suggested people call me that. Dora is an old and very popular name in Serbia.
