Athletics' UVA Day Set for Friday

Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia Athletics, in partnership with UVA Orthopedics, Nike and Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia, will host its inaugural UVA Day on Friday, Aug. 17.  This family-friendly event is open to the greater Charlottesville community and will take place from 4-6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club Cherry Avenue (1000-B Cherry Avenue).  
 
The carnival-like event will allow youth to interact with and compete against UVA coaches and student-athletes.  Free giveaways during the event include Nike UVA backpacks to the first 300 youth in elementary school and t-shirts.  Fans can also enjoy Domino’s Pizza, Pepsi products and Kona Ice during the event.  
 
Complimentary parking is available at the Boys and Girls Club Cherry Ave. office or at Buford Middle School (1000 Cherry Avenue).
