CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The Virginia wrestling program announced its 2018-19 schedule on Thursday (Sept. 13). The schedule features eight dual meets against teams that finished the 2017-18 season ranked among the top 25.

Virginia will host a total of eight dual meets across seven dates, while traveling for four road duals. The Cavaliers will also compete dual meets at the Journeymen Duals, the South Beach Duals and the Virginia Duals which are all neutral-site events.

“We have once again put together an extremely tough schedule for our team,” said Virginia head coach Steve Garland. “Whether by the dual meets we have scattered throughout the season or the tournaments we compete in, our guys are going to get the opportunity to face elite competition throughout the course of the entire year.

“The thing I am most excited about is how many home contests we have this year. My staff and I work very hard to build a home schedule and we are pretty pumped up about the teams we have coming to Charlottesville. We can’t wait for the UVA faithful to come out and support our guys.”
