FORT WORTH, Texas –Members of the Virginia women’s tennis team turned in a solid day two of action at the Big 5 Challenge on Friday with four players picking up singles victories and all three doubles teams taking wins.

Senior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine), juniors Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas) and Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia) all won in singles play. Also competing in singles action were junior Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.), sophomores Lizzie Baker (Washington, D.C.) and Maya Das (Potomac, Md.) and freshman Amber O’Dell (New Milford, N.J.).

It was a clean sweep through doubles action as the pairing of Kelley and Gullickson, and the duo of Bleser and O’Dell both won over doubles teams from Kansas State. The Virginia pairing of Das and Favero defeated a doubles team from Notre Dame.

Play will continue at the Big 5 Challenge on Saturday. Play for the Cavaliers will not begin before 2 p.m. whether play continues outdoors or is moved indoors due to weather.
