CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 1 Virginia women’s soccer team (11-0-3, 3-0-3 ACC) returns home to kick off a three-match homestand on Sunday with Notre Dame (9-4-1, 3-2-1 ACC) in a 2 p.m. match at Klöckner Stadium. 

The match will be carried on the ACC Network and streamed live on the ESPN app to viewers who subscribe to a cable system that carries the ACC Network. Fans can also follow the action through live stats linked at VirginiaSports.com or by following the program’s official Twitter account (@UVAWomenSoccer).

Virginia will honor four senior members of the program prior to the match as part of Senior Day festivities.

• Virginia remained at the top of the United Soccer Coaches poll for the fifth consecutive week
• At 11-0-3, UVA is one of only two unbeaten teams nationally (BYU: 12-0-1) entering the week
• UVA boasts two of the top goal scorers in the ACC in Diana Ordonez (1st – 12) and Meghan McCool 
  (3rd – 9) heading into the match with Notre Dame

• Laurel Ivory has been part of a stout Cavalier defense that has posted five straight shutouts in the ACC
• Ivory was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season on Tuesday
• It has been 527:21 since Ivory and the Cavaliers last allowed a goal – a penalty kick at Wake Forest
• The penalty kick by the Demon Deacons is the only goal allowed by Virginia in ACC matches this season
• Entering the match with Notre Dame, the 503:47 of shutout soccer is the fifth longest streak by a 
   keeper and the ninth longest streak by the Cavaliers as a team in program history

A LOOK AT THE NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH
• The Fighting Irish are 9-4-1 on the year and 3-2-1 in ACC play after a draw against No. 16 Louisville this past Sunday
• Notre Dame has scored 26 goals this season and allowed only 10 goals by opponents with nine shutouts heading into the week
• Sammi Fisher leads the Irish in scoring with five goals and four assists for 14 points – she is tied for team lead in goals and assists
• Luisa Delgado also has four assists, while Eva Zurm is tied for the team lead with five goals – including three game winners
• Brooke Littman has started eight games in goal with a 5-1-0 record, while Mattie Interian is 3-2-0 through her six starts
• Littman has allowed four goals with six shutouts in her time in goal this season
 
THE SERIES WITH THE FIGHTING IRISH
• Virginia and Notre Dame have faced each other seven times with UVA leading 5-1-1
• The Hoos won the last meeting 3-0 in the 2017 season at Notre Dame
• The squads first met in 1989, a 2-0 win for UVA, and didn’t play again until 2013
• The squads have played every year since that 2013 meeting renewed the rivalry
• Virginia is 3-0 in matches played at Notre Dame, but is 2-1-1 in home matches
• The Cavaliers are also 1-1-1 in matches played against Notre Dame at Klöckner 
 
LAST SEASON AGAINST NOTRE DAME
• Virginia went on the road and picked up a 3-0 victory over the Fighting Irish as part of a five-match winning
   streak in 2018
• Sydney Zandi hit what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 18th minute of play off a pass from Montana 
   Sutton
• Sutton finished with two assists on the day and scored one of the three goals for the Cavaliers in the victory
• Alexa Spaanstra tallied a goal and an assist in the match, assisting on the Sutton goal and scoring the match’s 
   third goal
• The Virginia defense held Notre Dame to three shots for the match with none of them coming on goal
 
UP NEXT FOR THE CAVALIERS
• Virginia will play two matches at home next week, hosting No. 14 Louisville and Boston College to close out the 
   home schedule
• The match with Louisville is at 7 p.m. on Thursday, while the BC match is set for a 1 p.m. kick on Sunday
