CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (9-14, 1-9 ACC) returns home to begin a four-match homestand by welcoming Duke (10-13, 3-7 ACC) and Wake Forest (11-10, 1-9 ACC). The Cavaliers face Duke on Friday (Nov. 1) at 6:30 p.m. before taking on Wake Forest on Sunday (Nov. 3) in a 2:30 p.m. first serve.
PROMOTIONS
Friday night is Hoos Halloween, as fans are invited to celebrate the spooky holiday by donning their best costumes inside Memorial Gymnasium. In addition, it is a Sabre Rewards Night with students receiving five Sabre points.
Sunday is Camper Reunion Day as the Cavaliers welcome back all youth who participated in a UVA volleyball camp this year.

AGAINST DUKE
• Duke leads the all-time series 53-13 and has won five-straight in the series.
• Virginia’s last victory in the series came on the road in 2015 with the Cavaliers claiming a 3-1 victory.
• That victory is Virginia’s only against the Blue Devils in the last 23 meetings.
• Virginia has not defeated Duke in Mem Gym since 2005.
AGAINST WAKE FOREST
• Virginia leads the all-time series with Wake Forest by a 27-23 margin.
• The Cavaliers swept the Demon Deacons on the road last season, winning 25-21, 25-22, 25-21.
• In that meeting, five Cavaliers had five or more kills in the victory. Virginia also held the Deacons to .098 hitting in the match.
BACK AT HOME
After playing six of eight matches in the month of October away from home, Virginia opens a four-match homestand this weekend. Virginia plays five of its final eight matches at home to close the season.
The return home will be a welcome sight, as the Cavaliers are 6-5 inside Mem Gym this season while holding just a 3-9 record away from the friendly confines.
MIDDLES AMONG THE LEADERS
Virginia middle blockers Mattison Matthews (Charleston, S.C.) and Milla Ciprian (St. John’s, Fla.) continue to rank among the most efficient hitters in the ACC this season.
Matthews currently sits third in the league with a .387 hitting percentage while Ciprian is eighth at .330. In addition to her spot among the league leaders, Matthews’ .387 hitting percentage would rank top all-time among Virginia freshmen. The current record is held by Anna Walsh who hit .354 in 2015. The .387 mark would also rank second in single-season performances at UVA.
Ciprian, meanwhile, is hitting .297 for her career, a mark that would land her among the top five in Virginia history.
