CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Top-seeded Virginia (18-1-1) will be home to host No. 14 St. John’s (14-4-1) on Saturday night (Nov. 30) at Klöckner Stadium in the third round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start and will air live on ACCNX.

Ticket Information
Tickets for NCAA Tournament matches at Klöckner Stadium can be purchased online at UVATix.com or by calling the Virginia Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821. Reserved seats are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate on game day. General admission tickets purchased in advance are $5 and $8 at the gate on game day. Students are required to purchase tickets. Children under two years of age are admitted free. 

Reserved season ticket holders will be given an exclusive window to purchase their same reserved seats from the regular season before they are released to the public.
 
Parking
$5 cash parking will be available for fans in the McCue (JPJ East),  UHall (JPJ South) and JPJ West/Garage lots.
 
FOR STARTERS
• The Cavaliers are in the round of 16 for the second-straight season and the 28th time in program history. Head coach George Gelnovatch has led Virginia to the third round 14 of his 24 seasons.
• Virginia is seeking is 20th NCAA Quarterfinal appearance and first since winning the 2014 National Championship.
• Virginia is making its 39th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the longest streak in the history of college soccer.
• The Cavaliers are the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed for the second time (1995) in school history and first time under head coach George Gelnovatch.
• Virginia comes into the match winners of its last seven matches, the second seven-match win streak of the season. It marks the third time in program history (1993 & 1995) the Cavaliers have put together win streaks of seven or more games in the same year
 • St. John’s/Virginia is one two matches on the NCAA Tournament slate for Saturday. The advancing team on Saturday will face either UCF or SMU in the quarterfinal. UCF/SMU is scheduled for an 8:30 in Dallas on Saturday night.
• No. 14 St. John’s will be the fourth-straight, ranked opponent for Virginia. The Cavaliers are 9-0 against teams from the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 in 2019.
 
SECOND ROUND STAND
• Virginia held Campbell, the country’s third-highest scoring offense, to just two shot attempts in a 2-0 shutout victory.
• Junior Spencer Patton was credited with the game-winning goal in the 38th minute. Nathaniel Crofts had the assist and later made the score 2-0 with his sixth goal of the season.
• The shutout was Virginia’s NCAA-best 14th of the season.
• The Cavaliers had a 19-2 shot advantage in the match and held 59 percent of the game’s possession.
 
AGAINST ST. JOHN’S
• Saturday will be the third time St. John’s and Virginia will meet in the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers have been victorious in both previous matchups in the second round.
• The Cavaliers have outscored the Red Storm, 9-0 in its last three matchups including a 2-0 victory in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
• Gelnovatch is 11-5-3 against current members of the Big East. The Cavaliers are unbeaten in their last seven matches against current Big East opponents (4-0-3) including wins over Villanova (3-2 OT) and Marquette (2-0) in 2017.

•Virginia has trailed three times this season for a total of 177:59 of 1,833 minutes played this season.
•The Cavaliers are 9-0 against non-ACC foes this season and have outscored the nine other programs, 15-0.
•Including Sunday’s win over Campbell, Virginia is 13-0 when leading at halftime and 16-0-1 when scoring first.

• The Cavaliers come into Sunday with the lowest goals against average (0.34), the highest save percentage (.879) and are tied for the most shutouts (14) in the country.
• Virginia’s 18 wins are tied with Missouri State for the most in collegiate soccer.
• Virginia owns a .921 winning percentage, also tied with Missouri State for the highest in the country.
• Virginia is one of four programs nationally with one or no losses this season.
• The Cavaliers have conceded just seven goals this season, the fewest of any team in the nation. Virginia and Georgetown are the only programs that have allowed less than 10 goals this season.
• The program record for fewest goals allowed in a season stands at eight, set in 2009. Only one other time (9 in 1988) has Virginia allowed less than 10 goals in a season.
 
PLAYER NOTES
• Nathaniel Crofts has scored three times in the NCAA Tournament, the most of any current Cavalier. Five of his nine career goals have come in either the ACC or NCAA Tournament. He’s scored twice in last year’s 2-0 Second Round win over Furman.
•Spencer Patton is the only other Cavalier on the roster with a NCAA Tournament goal. Three of his four goals this season have come against ranked foes.
• Cavalier captain Robin Afamefuna has started 43-straight games, the longest active streak on the team. Two of his four career goals have come in the ACC Tournament including a PK tally in this year’s ACC title game against Clemson.
• Defenders Henry Kessler and Andreas Ueland are the only two Cavaliers that have played every minute of every game this season. Fresh off earning ACC Tournament MVP honors, Kessler was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week on Monday (Nov. 25) for the second-straight week.
