CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 5 Virginia women’s lacrosse team (6-2) hosts No. 10 Loyola (3-2) on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

CAVALIER TIDBITS

  • UVA is one game into a stretch of eight consecutive games against ranked opponents.
  • The Cavaliers are 2-2 against ranked opponents this season.
  • Virginia is coming off a final-second, 13-12 loss at No. 3 North Carolina.
  • Three players recorded hat tricks at North Carolina. Senior Avery Shoemaker (Wyndmoor, Pa.) led the Cavaliers with four goals, while senior Maggie Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) and junior Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.) each had three.
  • Mueller had 17 draw controls in UVA’s two games last week. She currently ranks 10th in the ACC with 4.13 draws per game. Mueller also leads the conference with 3.63 ground balls per game.
  • Freshman Lillie Kloak (Ridgewood, N.J.) has three hat tricks this season, all three coming during midweek games.
  • Jackson is third in the ACC in assists (18) and fifth in points (33).

 
UVA vs. LOYOLA

  • Virginia owns a 25-11-1 lead in the all-time series with Loyola that dates back to the 1981 season.
  • UVA is 13-4-1 in games played in Charlottesville.
  • UVA and Loyola have met every year since 2009.
  • Loyola won last year’s meeting, 19-18 in Baltimore. UVA fought back from an 11-6 deficit to lead 16-15, but Loyola closed the game on a 4-2 run.

  • Loyola has won its last two games, including a 12-6 win over No. 25 Towson last Wednesday.
  • The Greyhounds are averaging 12.40 goals per game, while allowing 10.80 goals against.
  • Loyola leads the Patriot League and is 19th in the nation in shot percentage (.459).
  • Livy Rosenzweig is 10th nationally with 5.40 points per game, leading Loyola with 27 points this season.
  • Lindsey Ehrhardt is ninth in the NCAA with 2.60 caused turnovers per game.
  • Goalkeeper Kady Glynn is averaging 10.80 saves per game with a .514 save percentage.
