CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The No. 27 Virginia women’s tennis team (31-5, 5-4 ACC) continues to play at home, hosting No. 33 Georgia Tech (9-8, 6-4 ACC) as part of a four-match homestand on Sunday in a noon match at the Snyder Tennis Center.
 
Admission to all home Virginia women’s tennis matches is free.

VIRGINIA IN THE TEAM RANKINGS
The Cavaliers dropped a few spots in the latest Oracle/ITA Women’s Team Rankings to No. 27 in this week’s release after a split week with a win at Pittsburgh and a loss at No. 3 Duke. 

VIRGINIA IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
Virginia is represented in the individual rankings with three players ranked. Senior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) comes in at No. 39 in singles, while freshman Amber O’Dell (New Milford, N.J.) makes her first appearance in the rankings at No. 68. Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) makes her first appearance of the year at No. 108 in singles.

Kelley and freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia) are the No. 19 doubles tandem in the most recent individual rankings released. Also in the doubles rankings is the tandem of Gullickson and O’Dell at No. 70 in the polls.
 
THE SERIES WITH GEORGIA TECH
Virginia and Georgia Tech have faced each other 38 times in the history of the two programs with the Cavaliers holding a 23-15 lead in the all-time series. Virginia is looking to get back into the win column against the Yellow Jackets as Georgia Tech has won three straight in the series dating back to the 2015 season when Virginia took a 5-2 victory on the road. In the last meeting, a match played at Georgia Tech, the Cavaliers dropped a tight 4-3 contest to the then third-ranked Yellow Jackets. 
 
A LOOK AT THE YELLOW JACKETS
Georgia Tech enters the weekend with a 9-8 record on the season and a 6-4 mark in conference play after taking a 5-2 win on the road at Notre Dame on Friday. The Yellow Jackets claimed the doubles point and the singles matches on courts one, two and four to clinch the victory. In singles play, Georgia Tech is led by No. 12 Kenya Jones. She is the only ranked player for the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech has one doubles team in the rankings, the No. 62 pairing of Jones and Jeannette Lin. 
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS
Virginia will continue to play at home next weekend, hosting Louisville and Notre Dame at the Snyder Tennis Center. It will be part of a senior weekend for the Cavaliers with recognitions for the two seniors as Virginia closes out the home portion of the regular-season schedule. Friday’s match with No. 42 Notre Dame is set for a 4 p.m. first serve, while Sunday’s match with Louisville is set to begin at 11 a.m.
