No. 19 Virginia Closes Regular Season At No. 12 FSU, No. 25 Miami
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –The No. 19 Virginia women’s tennis team (16-5, 8-4 ACC) hits the road this weekend to close out ACC competition with a pair of matches at No. 12 Florida State and No. 25 Miami. Virginia will face FSU (17-5, 9-3) at 5 p.m. on Thursday (April 11) before facing Miami (14-6, 7-5 ACC) at noon on Saturday (April 13).

VIRGINIA IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Cavaliers moved up a spot in the team rankings this week, coming in at No. 20 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings released on Tuesday. Virginia is coming off a pair of wins over No. 50 Notre Dame and Louisville last week as part of a four-match win streak that included wins over No. 32 Old Dominion and No. 33 Georgia Tech the week prior.
CAVALIERS IN THE INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
Virginia is represented in the individual rankings with three players ranked. Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) comes in at No. 24 in singles, while freshman Amber O’Dell (New Milford, N.J.) is at the No. 90 position. Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) rounds out the Virginia players in the singles rankings at No. 115.
Kelley and freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia) are the No. 18 doubles tandem in the most recent individual rankings. Also in the doubles rankings is the tandem of Gullickson and O’Dell at No. 68 in the polls.
A LOOK AT FLORIDA STATE
The Seminoles enter the Thursday afternoon contest after splitting last weekend’s matches with a loss to No. 2 North Carolina before a win over No. 10 NC State. Florida State has one player in the latest Oracle/ITA Women’s Singles rankings with Carla Touly coming in at No. 34. The Seminoles also have one team in the doubles rankings with the tandem of Emmanuelle Salas and Ana Oparenovic coming in at No. 32 in the rankings.
A LOOK AT MIAMI
The Hurricanes will face Louisville on Thursday before hosting the Cavaliers in the regular-season finale on Saturday. Miami split matches last weekend, falling to Boston College before defeating Syracuse. In singles, Miami has the second-ranked player in Estela Perez-Somarriba. In doubles action, the Hurricanes have one ranked team with the duo of Daevenia Achong and Danielle Roldan coming in at No. 20.
UP NEXT FOR THE HOOS
Virginia will head to Cary, N.C., to compete at the ACC Women’s Tennis Championships. The annual event will be at the Cary Tennis Park and runs April 17-21.
