Redding, Patrick and Lillie Repeat on All-ACC Academic Team
Charlottesville, Va. – Virginia seniors Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) and Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) and sophomore Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) have been named to the 2019 Women’s Golf All-ACC Academic Team today (June 19).
It marked the fourth consecutive year Redding has received the award. She becomes just the third Cavalier to earn the distinction four times during her career. Redding and Lillie were two of 12 players to be named to the All-ACC team to also earn All-ACC Academic honors.
Redding led UVA in stroke average at 72.85 this year and was named to the All-ACC team for the second consecutive season. She was the team’s top finisher in six of the Cavaliers’ tournament including a 29th-place performance at the NCAA Championships.
Redding picked up her first collegiate win at Michigan State’s Mary Fossum Invitational in the fall. She had additional top-five finishes at the Tar Heel Invitational, Tar Heel Classic and ACC Championship, where she was fifth. During the season, Redding posted her best 54-hole collegiate score at the Mary Fossum Invitational and her career low 18-hole score with a 66 at the Tar Heel Classic.
Lillie was second on the team with a 72.85 stroke average and also led the Cavaliers in scoring at five events. She posted five top-10 finishes during the season including her second consecutive fifth-place showing at the ACC Championships. She equaled her best tournament score with a 54-hole total of 4-under 212 at the Tar Heel Classic and shot 5-under 67 at the ACC Championships to match her career-best single-round effort.
Patrick was third on the team with a 74.23 stroke average. She had a pair of top-10 finishes, including a season-best sixth-place showing at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
