CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 1 Virginia (8-0) will be home to host George Washington (2-6-1) on Tuesday night (Oct. 1) at Klöckner Stadium. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will air live on ACCNX.

For all regular season home games, reserved single-game tickets can be purchased for $8 online and in advance, and $10 at the box office on game day. General admission single-game tickets are $5 online and in advance, and $8 at the box office on game day.

• Virginia and George Washington will square off for the first time since 2009, a 2-1 overtime victory for the Cavaliers.
• Virginia comes into the contest unbeaten in its last 12 regular season non-conference matches 11-0-1.

HISTORIC DEFENSIVE START
• Virginia has allowed only one goal through its first eight games, the fewest in the 76-year history of the program. Last season the Cavaliers went seven games before conceding the season’s second goal, which had happened only one other time (1985).
PLAYER OF THE WEEK X2
• For the second time this season and the fourth time in his career, Colin Shutler was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
• Shutler was credited with clean sheets against Western Michigan and Notre Dame. Against the Irish he made a save in each half, including a close range shot in the 67th minute to keep the game scoreless. Junior Joe Bell scored the game-winning goal just over two minutes later.
RECORD CHASING
• Goalkeeper Colin Shutler was credited with his 15th career shutout on Saturday, tying him with Brock Yesto for eighth in program history. Shutler has 15 shutouts in 24 career starts for the Cavaliers.

FAST START
Virginia has won its first eight games of the season nine times in its 76-year history. The 8-0 start for the Cavaliers is the first since 2006 and only second in 24 seasons with George Gelnovatch at the helm.
