“Today’s match against Brown was an important one in terms of us achieving our team goals this season,” head coach Mark Allen said. “With only two places between the two teams on the rankings, it was a match that everyone knew they had to come out and play very well to win. To come away with an 8-1 victory over a team as strong as they are is definitely our best result so far this season and one the team can feel very proud of – they’ve all been working so hard and I’m pleased that today they got to see the result of that effort. This team has such a good attitude towards their training and ‘the daily grind,’ and I’m very excited to see just how far they can go this year.”

Virginia will return to action on Saturday (Jan. 18) to face No. 9 Cornel (3-2) in a neutral site match at Pennsylvania’s Penn Squash Center. The match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
